All-inclusive or plus expenses: which is better?

Neither is cheaper by nature. All-inclusive is easier to budget and there is no settlement at the end. Plus expenses gives you a receipt for every euro and you only pay for what you actually used.

Compare the two by working out the all-in number for the week, not by comparing headline rates, because the two rates measure different things. All-inclusive is common in the BVI and rare in the Mediterranean, so in most destinations the choice makes itself.
