Lürssen is a family-run German shipyard, founded in 1875 by Friedrich Lürssen in a boatbuilding workshop in Aumund, near Bremen. The yard’s own history page names the fourth generation, Friedrich and Peter Lürssen, and it is known for very large custom motor yachts.
We list three of them. The countdown below runs from #3, the smallest, up to #1, the biggest, ranked by listed length: CAPRI I at 192 feet, CORAL OCEAN at 238 feet and HUNTRESS at 248 feet. All three take 12 guests. Listed rates start from €450,000 per week, and a comparison table follows the countdown. After the countdown we cover five more Lürssen yachts that we don’t list but can arrange through their central agents, and the famous private Lürssens you can’t charter at all.

The yachts on this page show the yard’s range. CORAL OCEAN carries a Jon Bannenberg profile and CAPRI I was designed by Glade Johnson; the newest, KISMET, was delivered in 2024 at 122 metres, and the oldest, ALAYA, is a 1965 classic with a mahogany hull.
The yard’s history is long. By its own account Lürssen built the world’s first motorboat in 1886. In 2013 it delivered AZZAM, which it calls the world’s longest yacht, at 180.65 metres. DILBAR followed in 2016: Lürssen describes her as the largest motor yacht in the world by gross tonnage, 156 metres long and 15,917 tonnes, with a 25 metre swimming pool. Both are private yachts and are not available for charter, so we mention them here only as context for what the yard can build.

3. CAPRI I
“A Full-Beam Master and a Home Port in Athens”
CAPRI I is a 192 foot (58.6 m) Lürssen motor yacht built in 2003 and designed by Glade Johnson. Her listed home port is Athens, and she cruises Greece, Turkey, Croatia and the Italian coast. She has five decks and takes 12 guests in 6 cabins, with a full-beam master suite that has its own sitting room and an onyx bathroom.
Beyond the master, she has a twin cabin on the main deck and three doubles and a twin below. Her toys include three jet skis, one of them a stand-up, two Seabob F5S, a Fliteboard e-foil and a Flyboard, and a Rib Eye 650 tender with a ski and wake tower. She has a fully equipped gym and a deck Jacuzzi, and zero-speed stabilisers steady her at anchor. Rates run from €450,000 per week, plus 30% APA.
2. CORAL OCEAN
“A Bannenberg Classic, Rebuilt in 2022”
CORAL OCEAN is a 238 foot (about 73 m) Lürssen built in 1994 and formerly known as CORAL ISLAND, with a Jon Bannenberg design. She was rebuilt in 2022: the sun deck now has glass balustrades, a bar and a spa pool with a glass bottom. She takes 12 guests in six suites that are close in size.
The toys include jet skis, Seabobs, three Fliteboard e-foils, a waterslide and a Pardo 38 chase boat. She cruises the Mediterranean in summer and the Caribbean, the Bahamas, the Red Sea and the Gulf in winter, and her home port is Antibes. Rates run from €495,000 per week, rising to €790,000 per week at the height of summer, plus VAT and 30% APA.

A serious wellness yacht — the main-deck gym opens right up to the outdoors, with a reformer, ice bath, bikes, and treadmill, backed by a Pilates instructor, personal trainer, and spa masseuse on staff. She’s fully equipped for diving too, and the onboard spa, complete with sauna, is one of the most complete you’ll find. Toy days go all out, with the full water-toy fleet deployed.

1. HUNTRESS
“A Wheelchair-Accessible Lift and a Floating Pool”
HUNTRESS is the biggest Lürssen we list: 248 feet (75.6 m), launched in 2009. She takes 12 guests in 6 staterooms, all with king beds, and two of them convert to twins. A large lift serves every deck except the sun deck and is wheelchair accessible.
Aboard there is a spa room, a gym with a sauna, and an indoor cinema. Her toy list includes two 10.2 m Hodgdon tenders, two Sea-Doos, two Seabob F5S, two eFoils, a water park with an Aquaglide Supertramp and Jungle Jim, and an inflatable jellyfish pool of 7.4 by 5.7 metres. Her listed rate runs from $695,000 per week, plus APA. She winters in the Caribbean and the Bahamas, and her listing gives French Polynesia for summer.

KISMET, 400 feet
KISMET is a 122 metre Lürssen delivered in 2024, with an exterior by Nuvolari Lenard and an interior by Reymond Langton, the newest and biggest charter yacht on this page. She has a hybrid powertrain that can run on electric power alone. She takes 12 guests in 9 cabins, summers in the Mediterranean and winters in the Caribbean, from the BVI and St Barth to the Grenadines and the Bahamas. Ask us about KISMET.
LADY LARA, 299 feet
LADY LARA is a 91 metre Lürssen from 2015 for 12 guests in 8 cabins. She has two pools: one on the sun deck with a swim-up bar, and one on the main deck that becomes a dance floor at night. The beach club adds a sauna and a steam room at the waterline. Her broker lists the French Riviera, Provence, Corsica and the Caribbean among her cruising areas. Ask us about LADY LARA.
SOLANDGE, 279 feet
SOLANDGE is an 85 metre Lürssen from 2013 for 12 guests in 8 cabins. The owner has a private deck forward with its own spa pool and a 180-degree view over the bow, and a removable floor turns the spa pool into a dance floor. TITANIA, 239 feet
TITANIA is a 73 metre Lürssen from 2006, refitted in 2018, for 12 guests in 7 cabins. She has two master cabins, a large Jacuzzi with a swim-up bar, a beach club at sea level, a sauna and a cold plunge. What a Lürssen charter costs
The three Lürssen yachts we list, side by side. Each rate is the lowest weekly rate on the yacht’s listing, before expenses.

Each listing adds running expenses on top of the charter fee, paid in advance as the APA and settled against what is actually spent.
