<p>Captain David grew up in a boatyard in Oceanside, California, where life around the water sparked an early connection to boats and the sea. He later moved to Kauai for a fresh start and quickly embraced island life, racing Olson 30s in local regattas and sailing across the challenging Kauai Channel to Oahu.</p><p>While working as a finish carpenter on luxury estates, David spent his free time sailing Hanalei Bay with Emily aboard their Nacra 20. Soon after they married, they purchased a 44-foot Kelly Peterson, closed their businesses, and began preparing for long-distance cruising.</p><p>In December 2018, they departed San Diego and sailed south along Baja and the Mexican coast before eventually completing a 21-day Pacific crossing to Hawaii. Their adventures have included surfing remote coastlines, fishing offshore, exploring secluded anchorages, and returning beneath the Golden Gate Bridge on a clear morning.</p><p>David brings an adventurous spirit, practical skill, and confident energy to life onboard. He enjoys keeping the sailing experience active and engaging, whether trimming sails, sharing his knowledge, or trolling lines in hopes of catching dinner.</p>

<p>Chef Emily moved to Kauai from Jackson, Wyoming, where she had been operating an organic and vegan bakery. After discovering the world of private cheffing, she immediately recognized it as the perfect fit. A successful tasting for a head concierge helped launch her career preparing personalized meals for private clients.</p><p>Emily draws inspiration from sourcing the freshest and most beautiful ingredients available. She especially enjoys visiting farmers markets, meeting growers and producers, and discovering foods that bring vibrancy, color, and character to each dish.</p><p>After meeting and marrying David in Kauai, the two purchased a 44-foot Kelly Peterson and began a new life at sea. Their journey took them from California down the coast of Mexico and across the Pacific to Hawaii, giving Emily the opportunity to cook with local ingredients and flavors throughout their travels.</p><p>Now based in Mexico, Emily continues to blend her culinary background with the bold, fresh influences of coastal living. Guests can expect colorful, flavorful meals with plenty of personality, warmth, and spice.</p><p>Together, David and Emily welcome guests to relax, get involved, learn more about sailing and fishing, and embrace their motto: “We out here living our best life!”</p>

Our family had an enjoyable time decompressing, relaxing, and "chillin" on Lady Catron. The week flew by! David - your boatmanship is top-notch - you proved your merits as a sailor & captain. We felt safe and confident every nautical step of the way. Emily - your food was simply delicious. I say simple because you made it look effortless. When did you do all that?? Fresh, flavorful and thoughtfully adapted to our kids' preferences! While our Christmas celebration was short, we were happy to share it with you two. This was high key the best vacay EVER!!! Fish galore spotted rays and a misplaced octopus - what else can we say?? Oh yeah, the food - AMAZING... Fresh caught Spanish Mackerel ceviche?? Need I say more?? Everything was top notch, drinks and meals were so tasty. Kids loved the fruit selection and adults the drink selection (kid too)! Thank you most for taking care of us - watching us while we snorkeled, sailing us safely & ensuring everyone got the food/drinks they want. Happy and healthy 2024!!!

Emily's daily cocktails put us in a trance, The espresso martinis made us pole dance. The yoga was great, we loved the Soft Norm, David's sailing is perfection and Emily's food is the bomb. Hanging on the boat, listening to "License to Chill," The Cooper Island Rumfest gave us a license to chill. How did we ever live without Deb & Peter? and that amazing breakfast of bagels and lox? David's a pro and helped us pull in the mahi fish, Then Emily cooked it up to make another fabulous dish! Lady Catron was magical, And the water so blue, Thank you for making Laura's 40th A dream come true!
