Bastian Tromp
Growing up in South Africa, Bastian was always surrounded by nature. He would find creative ways to indulge in it: climbing trees, hiking mountains, surfing or scuba diving - anything that would bring him closer to the elements. After years of going back to the sea, it was only natural for him to continue on this path and become a skipper.
Qualifying for his license on the South African waters, his training in a challenging ocean prepared him for whatever may come. On his first voyage, he crossed the Atlantic Ocean. This was preceded by more voyages, in which he quickly advanced positions and was then working as a Captain.
Chartering yachts for potential buyers in Cape Town, Bastian found a way to bring his two loves together: sailing the ocean, and bringing people closer to nature. Even on land, people turn to him to take them out exploring and camping. Chartering proved to be a beautiful extension to that.
Bastian is truly passionate about the sea, nature and the connection we have to it; and he always seems to know the perfect equation for a divine sunset. For him, providing a good and memorable experience on the sea is a duty just as much as it is a pleasure.

Sarai Ben Ari
Sarai was raised in Italy, Germany and Israel - always on the coast. Being a daughter to a skipper, her family had a close relationship with yachts. They regularly went sailing in the Mediterranean, exploring all of the different coastlines the Med has to offer, and that was where she fell in love with the sea. Discovering this at a young age she took on competitive windsurfing and started scuba diving, along with photography as a way to indulge in the present and the beauty of nature.
Living in the Middle East and Italy gave her an appreciation for the Mediterranean and Italian cuisines. At home, the dining table has always been a place where everyone gathers and time seems to stop. Seeing food as an art that has the power to connect people, she ventured into hospitality during and after high school, working in different catering companies.
At the age of 19 she enrolled in the IDF and served for 4 years as a Commanding Officer. During her service, she found profound meaning in human companionship and the relationships we build with each other. This understanding grew stronger through her travels in Africa, getting to know a variety of cultures and being inspired by her experiences there.
Sarai is passionate about the beauty in the simplicity of life. She believes food has the potential to elevate any experience to new heights. By combining fresh ingredients, and accentuating natural flavors, her cooking is designed to bring those at the table closer together.

Reviews
The Emysa is a fabulous boat! We have been on a 50’ catamaran on a previous trip but the Emysa in comparison, offers so much more. There was plenty of room to spread out in the spacious salon, upper deck & forward and rear areas, where we enjoyed drinking our morning coffee, reading, taking in the view of the islands & sunsets or get together for drinks and appetizers. We felt very pampered in the staterooms. We also enjoyed the toys which included tubing behind the dingy, SUP, clear bottom kayak, and sea scooters.
Thank you again for a wonderful trip!
The boat was everything we hoped for and best for last, the food!! Delicious, thoughtful, varied and so perfectly designed for us, and did we mention, delicious!!! Much love!
This was the most amazing trip we have EVER had! The boat was beyond comfortable and stocked with anything and everything we could have wanted or needed.
Bastian and Sarai were above and beyond in every way. They were new to these islands but did their homework to show us all the precious places to see and experience.
Then there is the food & dining experience on EMYSA.. No words... We dined like royalty. Each meal was well thought out, planned, and delicious! We had lots to celebrate on this trip and they made it so special and memorable.
Bastian and Sarai are a wonderful team and we will remember them and this experience always and forever!

C E R T I F I C A T E S
RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Offshore
Skippers
Yacht and Boat-building Level 2
ENG1
STCW
Super Yacht Training RYA PWC
RYA Powerboat Level 2
RYA Diesel Engine
IRATA Rope Access Level 1
NRG Renewable System, Tall Tower
Certificate
PADI Advanced Diving
Skydive ISP License
DSC/VHF Short Range Certificate

C E R T I F I C A T E S
HACCP Food Safety System for
Restaurants and Other Catering
Services
STCW
PADI Rescue Diver
Combat Officer’s Course";s:14:"yachtCrewPhoto";s:0:"";s:13:"yachtCrew1Pic";s:76:"https://www.centralyachtagent.com/yachtadmin/yachtlg/yacht8028/8028crew1.jpg";s:13:"yachtCrew2Pic";s:76:"https://www.centralyachtagent.com/yachtadmin/yachtlg/yacht8028/8028crew2.jpg";s:13:"yachtCrew3Pic";s:76:"https://www.centralyachtagent.com/yachtadmin/yachtlg/yacht8028/8028crew3.jpg";s:13:"yachtCrew4Pic";s:0:"";s:13:"yachtCrew5Pic";s:0:"";s:13:"yachtCrew6Pic";s:0:"";s:13:"yachtCrew7Pic";s:0:"";s:13:"yachtCrew8Pic";s:0:"";s:13:"yachtCrew9Pic";s:0:"";s:14:"yachtCrew10Pic";s:0:"";s:14:"yachtCrew1Name";s:13:"Bastian Tromp";s:14:"yachtCrew2Name";s:13:"Sarai Ben Ari";s:14:"yachtCrew3Name";s:0:"";s:14:"yachtCrew4Name";s:0:"";s:14:"yachtCrew5Name";s:0:"";s:14:"yachtCrew6Name";s:0:"";s:14:"yachtCrew7Name";s:0:"";s:14:"yachtCrew8Name";s:0:"";s:14:"yachtCrew9Name";s:0:"";s:15:"yachtCrew10Name";s:0:"";s:15:"yachtCrew1Title";s:7:"Captain";s:15:"yachtCrew2Title";s:4:"Chef";s:15:"yachtCrew3Title";s:0:"";s:15:"yachtCrew4Title";s:0:"";s:15:"yachtCrew5Title";s:0:"";s:15:"yachtCrew6Title";s:0:"";s:15:"yachtCrew7Title";s:0:"";s:15:"yachtCrew8Title";s:0:"";s:15:"yachtCrew9Title";s:0:"";s:16:"yachtCrew10Title";s:0:"";s:9:"yachtFlag";s:3:"USA";s:13:"yachtHomePort";s:15:"BVI, St Vincent";s:14:"yachtWBasePort";s:3:"BVI";s:8:"yachtRig";s:0:"";s:14:"yachtGrossTons";s:0:"";s:12:"yachtAcNight";s:3:"Yes";s:16:"yachtAcSurCharge";s:2:"No";s:9:"yachtTubs";s:1:"0";s:20:"yachtLocationDetails";s:136:"Yacht is based out of Scrub Island BVI Yacht will be accepting charters in St. Vincent or Grenada from August 6 - October 24th, 2024. They know the BVI so well and were very flexible in the planning before and during the trip. Bastian (aka Orlando Bloom lookalike) sailed to great spots every day. He really enjoys putting up the sails as we transitioned between the islands. He made it possible for not only rendezvous diving with a coupe local dive shops but also helped us do scuba diving right from the Emysa. He knows great snorkeling reefs and where to go exploring ashore. He can mix a smooth margarita, mojito, or the island special “pain killer”. He also can bake delicious pizzas prepared by Sarai. And “Oh My My!”, Sarai and her kitchen! The cuisine was so delicious. Her Mediterranean flair for preparing dishes is beyond compare. Five-star dining only because there isn’t a six-star rating.

The boat is truly luxurious, a giant, light filled salon with sweeping views of the crystal blue water everywhere you look. So much space you will never feel crowded. The dining table on the back was a perfect spot for morning coffee and all of our meals. The bean bags on the front are perfect for sunset with a cocktail. Gorgeous views from the fly bridge which even has a fire pit! Beautiful linens, toiletries, every detail and water toy you could imagine are available. We really enjoyed the water scooters and clear kayak!! Our crew was incredible! Not only are they very interesting and have so much to share about the world, they are incredibly skilled in their craft. Our captain, Bastian, is clearly an expert sailor and boat captain. I had 1000% confidence in his abilities under any circumstances. Our chef, Sarai, made every meal exceptional with the most beautiful eye and palate pleasing dishes. Full of vibrant colors and the freshest ingredients. Almost too stunning to eat! They took us on the perfect itinerary. Every port more exceptional than the last.

December 2023

Bastian and Sarai - Thank you so much for a wonderful week! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left – everything was absolutely exceptional! We were greeted, after a long day of travel, with the most beautiful, candle lit dinner on the back of the boat which was the envy of other guests at the marina. They even surprised us with dinner reservations at a restaurant which has now become one of my favorites ever! I cannot begin to say enough about this experience! I’m sure we will be back.

January 2023

EMYSA is fantastically equipped, we saw no reason for shore visits. Bastian and Sarai are top notch sailors and the cocktails and meals were over the top. We could not have asked for anything more. Each day was better than the day before with snorkeling, kayaking in the glass kayak, and playing on the scooters. We only used half the available toys.
