How do payments work, and why not by card?

By bank transfer, in two steps. A deposit of around half the charter fee when you sign, then the balance, the APA and the tax before you board. The exact schedule is written in your charter agreement and invoice.

Cards, PayPal and cash apps are not the norm anywhere in the industry for these amounts. Some yachts accept a card payment with a processing fee, but for a six-figure booking a transfer is simpler and cheaper. Always confirm payment details through your broker before sending funds.
