Captain: Achille Lefrere
Captain (rotational): Caroline Bourdin Nicolas
Caroline’s love for the sea began at an early age, inspired by her father, an airplane pilot with a deep passion for sailing. Growing up, she was fortunate to travel the world, discovering the joys of sailing during family cruises in the West Indies, French Polynesia, and the Mediterranean.
She pursued her studies in management at La Rochelle on the Atlantic coast of France, where she actively participated in regattas on renowned sailing yachts such as TUIGA and MOONBEAM. Caroline then spent a decade organizing events and providing nautical training independently.
Eleven years ago, Caroline decided to follow her lifelong dream of becoming a professional sailor. She obtained all the necessary diplomas and mechanics certificates, embarking on a new career in yachting.
Caroline has accumulated extensive experience working on prestigious vessels, including the Sunreef Supreme MAYRILOU for nearly five years, as well as the Sunreef 70 Eco ONE PLANET and other catamarans. Her broad experience in charters across various regions has equipped her with the perfect skill set to sail with OTOCTONE. Known for her warm-hearted and friendly demeanor, Caroline prioritizes clients' expectations, ensuring safety and creating the best possible atmosphere for an enjoyable cruise on board.
Chef: Sophie Chadefaux
Sophie was born in Paris but spent all her childhood in Lille, a city North of France. After her studies, she decided to start a new adventure and she left France to learn English and become a Diving Instructor. For the last few years, she has travelled through Australia, South America, Asia and Africa.
5 years ago, she decided to come in the Yachting Industry and instantly loved this fast paced, ever adapting industry. It has grown her as an individual and reminded her daily of her love for cooking and making her guests happy.
She can utilize her culinary skills and passion for cooking that she learnt from her mum every day and she loves the challenge to make new kind of food every week to please the guests.
She can cook a wide variety of cuisines from everywhere as she took a lot of courses from her past travels to create unique dishes and an extraordinary dining experience.
Stewardess: Julie Vandewoestyne
Julie was born and grew up in the North of France. She studied and worked in management of non-profit organizations and in internal audit and monitoring departments. Then, looking for adventures, she decided to travel in South - East Asia for few months and finally spent 4 years abroad. During this time, she fell in love with Scuba Diving and became an instructor in Thailand. Passionate about the ocean, she's been working in Yachting for the last two years.
She worked on Motor Yachts and Sailing Yachts as a stewardess, cook-stewardess and also deckhand-stewardess. Cheerful and helpful, Julie is in tune with her guests and their needs. With a wealth of various experiences, she adapts and personalizes her service to adults and children.
Deckhand: Pierre Friant
Pierre has been a professional sailor since 2015, bringing versatility and extensive experience across a range of vessels, from mega yachts to sailing boats.
As a trained marine carpenter, he combines his craftsmanship with a deep passion for sailing and water sports, including windsurfing, kayaking, and diving. He is always eager to assist charter guests with water toys and activities, ensuring they have an unforgettable experience.
With his broad skill set and dedication, Pierre is committed to providing exceptional service and creating unique, memorable moments for all onboard.
Captain (rotational): Achille Lefrere
Captain Achille was born and raised in Porto-Vecchio, in one of the best places for sailing in the Western Mediterranean, where he developed a strong passion for the sea.
With a dream to circumnavigate the globe, within a year spent in Australia, Achille acquired all the certification needed to work on a yacht and joined a 30 m sailing catamaran. He has gained valuable skills and extensive knowledge since then and is nowhere more at home than at the helm. With more than 10 years at sea, Achille has taken vessels to many parts of the world, including Mediterranean, Egypt, Caribbean, Bahamas, the East coast of the USA, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia.
An experienced navigator and marine engineer, advanced open water PADI diver and kite surfer, Achille has a generous amount of knowledge to share and takes great pride in creating tailor-made sailing experience for each charter on board OTOCTONE.
