Crew Information

Captain: Westly

Captain Westley -

Hey there, sea-loving friends! Let me take you on a journey into the heart of Langebaan, the ultimate coastal haven on the West Coast of South Africa. Imagine growing up surrounded by stunning lagoons, endless stretches of pristine beaches, and a community that embraces the saltwater life. That’s where my aquatic adventure began!

From a young age, I soaked in not just the sun but also a deep respect and love for the water that defines Langebaan. Every spare moment became an opportunity to dive into the wonders of the sea, and it wasn’t long before this passion led me to a pivotal decision in 2018. I chose to turn my love for the water into a full-blown profession. I set sail into the sailing industry, getting qualified and ready to live my dream. Elite Charters quickly became my playground, introducing me to the dynamic world of hospitality and sailing charters. Starting as a skipper, I soon took on the role of Operations Manager at Langebaan Luxury House Boats.

Now, I’m not just a sailor; I’m a pro at ensuring guests have an absolute blast on the water. From sailing adventures to seamless management, I’ve got the skills to turn your sea escapade into an unforgettable experience. But here’s the kicker—I’m not doing it alone! Teamed up with the fantastic Leandri, we’re a dynamic duo ready to sprinkle some fun and create the most epic holidays for our guests. So, buckle up for an exciting voyage because we’re not just making waves; we’re making memories! Can’t wait to share the joy of the ocean with you.

Chef Leandri -

Ahoy there! I’m Chef Leandri, your go-to gal for culinary delights on the waves! Picture the scenic shores of Langebaan Lagoon, just a skip from Cape Town. Growing up in the Western Cape, I dove into water sports and boating, thanks to Dad’s wisdom on confidence and water respect.

At 16, I earned my SAS Skippers license, unlocking a world of aquatic leisure. Post-high school, I set sail for a year of au-pairing and European escapades in Amsterdam. Back home, I started as a waitress, climbing up to become a wedding coordinator at Sun Valley Wedding Ranch, polishing my customer care and organizational prowess.

In 2018, my yachting dreams took shape with stewardship courses at Atlantic Yachting. Fate had a twist, introducing me to Westley during Covid. Together, we’re a power duo, blending yachting and hospitality for waves of joy and unforgettable moments.

So, fellow sailors, brace yourselves for a seafaring adventure where the sea meets hospitality, promising a sprinkle of joy and unforgettable moments.

Reviews

Amazing!!
We and another couple booked the Bavarian Bliss for a 7 night charter out of St Thomas. This was our first charter and it was better than we had expected. Captain Reinhardt took us to some amazing bays around St. John island where we could swim and snorkel. Crew/Chef Marisa made the most amazing meals for us and made sure we had everything we needed. They took us to Lime Out for tacos and cocktails. That was one of the many highlights of the trip. Marisa gave us a guided tour of Water Island with lunch at the top of Fort Sagarra. The Bavarian Bliss is a clean and comfortable Catamaran and we would highly recommend taking a charter with this amazing crew!
BB charter 12-19/03/23
It is with great pleasure Thai I write a review for The Bavarian Bliss. Our Captain Reinhardt Conradie & our Chef & first mate; Marisa Gould were
phenomenal. Our captain had command of the vessel with precision & confidence. He handled the changing seas with extreme safety and expertise. He was personable, professional , and a pleasure to be with. As far as Marisa Gould she was awesome. Her cooking was always an incredible presentation with much detail to the dishes. The food was always tasty & exceptional( I always wanted seconds). She prepared vegan dishes for one of our friends at every meal since she was a vegan. The meals were quite tasty & again the presentation was incredible. As far as a first mate she assisted Capt. Rein flawlessly. I highly recommend this duo to captain any vessel. In fact I have already passed their information to friends who are charting their yacht. Our adventure was from March 12th-29th and we couldn't have asked for a better vacation. We will be back! They deserve a 5 Star & review. I'm enclosing several pictures of the meals Marisa prepared for us.
