MEMENTO AMORI yacht is a 48.00 ft long sailboat catamaran and spends the summer season in Caribbean Virgin Islands (US/BVI), Caribbean Virgin Islands (US), Caribbean Virgin Islands (BVI) and winter season in Caribbean Virgin Islands (US/BVI), Caribbean Virgin Islands (US), Caribbean Virgin Islands (BVI). It was built by Bali Catamarans in 2023. The yacht layout features 5 cabins and accommodates 10 guests. The cabin arrangement is following: 4 queen cabins, 1 twin cabin.
The sailboat features Twin Yanmar 57HP engines 13.5kw Genset Ray Marine Electronics engines and a generator.

Captain: Edward Horak
Captain Ed
Ed is a seasoned USCG-licensed Master with over 90,000 nautical miles of experience, including multiple transits of both the Suez and Panama Canals and crossings of the Pacific and Atlantic. His extensive five-star private and charter yacht experience spans the USA East Coast, Bahamas, U.S. and British Virgin Islands, Venezuela’s coastal islands, the ABC Islands, Tahiti, Marshall Islands, Palau, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Maldives, the Mediterranean, and the Middle East. He’s also a proud member of the Trusty Shellbacks of King Neptune.
Growing up on the waters of Long Island’s South Shore—between New York City and the Hamptons—Ed developed a passion for the outdoors. An avid sailor, skier, and outdoorsman, he’s also a decent golfer when time allows. Most recently, Ed has enjoyed exploring the Northern and Southern Rockies in Northwest Montana during his free time.
With a Master’s Degree in Environmental Management, Ed has managed multiple charter fleets across Long Island’s North and South Shores, New York Harbor, and the Virgin Islands. He has owned his own sailing school and is experienced in business operations. Ed’s career has included roles as Captain, Chief Mate, Bosun, Engineer, and Deckhand on luxury motor yachts up to 250 feet, with global itineraries, including several circumnavigations.
Ed is now island-hopping with guests around the U.S. and British Virgin Islands aboard Memento Amori, where he helps people experience the vacation of a lifetime.
Chef Desiree
Desiree, a seasoned chef and stewardess, is your go-to professional aboard our 48ft catamaran cruising through the USVI and BVI. Born in Arkansas and raised on Long Island, Desiree's diverse upbringing, from the bustling streets of Manhattan to the rustic trails of the Ozarks, has shaped her culinary skills and adaptability. She graduated from Johnson and Wales University in Miami in 2000 and refined her craft under top chefs in vibrant locales like South Beach, the Hamptons, San Francisco, and Hawaii, before excelling as a top sales producer for Sysco Foods.
In 2016, Desiree transitioned from high-end restaurants to the dynamic world of yachting, driven by her passion for new cultures and challenges. Her culinary creations reflect her travels across 14 countries and her time living in destinations such as Bali and Bocas del Toro, where she embraced local flavors and cooking techniques. Onboard, she’s not just the chef but also the bartender and the heart of daily operations, ensuring every guest has an unforgettable experience.
Her cooking is deeply influenced by her Puerto Rican and Italian heritage, promising meals that are healthy, flavorful, and satisfying without leaving you feeling overly full. Being up extra early with coffee already made, putting the extra touches on meals and snacks. Hanging the towels we forgot to, picking up the rooms when we werent looking. I have no idea how to put down all the little things that have meant so much to us both.

Des absolutely knocked it out of the park with every single meal. Our favorite was the slidders! Then you add the fun loving personalities that they both brought everyday, we immediately felt at home.

Our recent boat charter trip in the British Virgin Islands aboard Momento Amori was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we set sail, it was clear this would be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. With 10 of us on board, the yacht felt spacious, luxurious, and impeccably designed to cater to both relaxation and adventure.
What truly elevated our trip, however, was Des, our chef and the heart of the experience. Des went above and beyond in every possible way, ensuring we felt cared for from sunrise to sunset. Her culinary creations were nothing short of spectacular—each meal was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and delicious, with something to please every palate. Beyond her talent in the kitchen, Des’s kindness and warmth created a sense of home on the water. Whether it was a perfectly timed afternoon snack, a warm smile to brighten the morning, or her uncanny ability to anticipate what we needed before we even asked, Des was the embodiment of service and hospitality.
The BVI itself was breathtaking, with crystal-clear waters, stunning sunsets, and countless hidden gems to explore. Each day brought a new adventure, from snorkeling vibrant reefs to anchoring in secluded coves. But the magic of Momento Amori—and Des’s care—made this journey unforgettable.
If you’re considering a charter in the BVIs, I cannot recommend Momento Amori enough. With its perfect balance of luxury, adventure, and heartfelt service, it’s an experience that will stay with you long after you return to shore.

The two of them were instrumental in making our trip a step above all others.
The catamaran was beautiful and spacious for 4 couples (each having our own double bed and head). We spent mornings snorkeling off the rear or playing with toys in the water…Evenings on the covered fly deck were magical with a pitcher of painkillers! The 48’ bali was new and meticulously clean. We had everything we could have wanted….My favorite was the cappuccino bar with Justin’s yummy cookies!….I am looking forward to sailing on the Memento Amori again soon!!

Happy hour on the fly bridge with a hardtop cover was amazing. Breeze, view and shade coupled with fantastic libations- the recipe for perfection. Lots of fun toys to hang out on when we weren't snorkeling. Captain and Chef were great. They were very accommodating and worked hard to make our trip special. We would definitely book this boat again.

We've been on lots of sailboats and have always fought for the moving shady spots. Memento Amori's large shaded fly bridge was amazing!
Can't say enough about the gourmet foods that Justin whipped up for us. Loved the fresh herb garden on board and the espresso machine was an added treat!
Adriana is an incredibly experienced captain, especially to be so young! And she makes some mean cocktails!!!
I would be living on the sailboat with them if life weren't in the way. Can't wait to go back next year!
