Captain: Marko Dragun

Marko Dragun - CAPTAIN
Marko Dragun was born and raised in the beautiful historic town of Split, Croatia. With over 15 years of experience in yachting he has shown himself to be a very enthusiastic, experienced and organized leader. Marko has worked on a variety of yachts and has a sound knowledge of the cruising areas around the Mediterranean and the Adriatic Sea.

He has a fun, can-do attitude and a wonderful sense of adventure and exploration, which definitely benefits all the passengers. Growing up he was always involved in various sports and outdoor activities, in particular sailing.

After graduating from nautical school, Marko obtained maritime certificates and hands-on experience. Along the way, he has been well mentored by highly experienced Captains in the industry and worked his way through the ranks steadily from Deckhand and Botswain to Deck Officer and Captain. His welcoming demeanor, enthusiasm for travel, and keen sense of leadership lend themselves perfectly to the role of Captain. He has spent time on commercial vessels and within the offshore industry to upgrade his certificate to a higher level, which later gave him the opportunity to work on bigger yachts. After settling down and starting a family, Marko transitioned to private and charter yachts. Most of his professional career has been spent on yachts from 65 to 200 feet.

As the Captain, Marko is responsible for the safety, overall running and financial management of the vessel, crew and guests. He ensures the safe and efficient operation of the yacht at all times, including compliance with all safety procedures and regulations, as well as adherence to International Flag, Port State and local laws and regulations. The Captain has a close relationship with his crew and provides leadership, guidance and support while encouraging both teamwork and individual accountability. He communicates clearly with the crew to ensure compliance with, and understanding of, the vessel’s policies and is responsible for the delegation of duties and oversight with respect to department heads.

Marko has a true passion for yachting which he loves to share with the crew and charter guests. His hobbies include; Sailing-Regatta, hiking, windsurfing and spearfishing. Marko has participated in numerous sailing regattas and represented his yacht club locally and internationally. Some of the regattas include, the Jabuka Off Shore Race, the ACI Match Race Tour, the Adriatic Off Shore Race, the Mrduja Race and the Viska Race.

JOSIP MIOČ - CHEF
Josip was born in Metković, Croatia. When he was young he was a passionate football player. During his football career, he qualified as a chef and soon started to work summer seasons on the Dalmatian cost as a chef. During the winter, he was upgrading his knowledge in the capital of Croatia, Zagreb. He particularly enjoyed running an advent street-food stall during the Christmas market in Metković. In 2018, Josip decided to join the yachting world as a chef and since then he has worked on sailing and motor yachts. In his spare time, he is passionate about working out, running, music, and playing football. He loves traveling as it widens his experience and knowledge of different types of world cuisines.

KRISTINA MARIC - STEWARDESS
Kristina, born and raised in Zagreb, Croatia, is a skilled stewardess with experience on charter yachts. With a master's degree in Wood Product Design, Kristina pays close attention to detail, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere in every space. Having worked on vessels of various sizes, ranging from 19m to 39m, Kristina has developed a wide range of interior skills. Her previous experience as a Wood Product Designer and Department Manager in technical documentation further enhances her organisational skills. Outside of work, Kristina maintains a healthy and active lifestyle. She finds joy in nature, animals, swimming, and hiking. Additionally, she enjoys expressing her creative side through 3D modeling and visualizing spaces using various software.

IVAN KOMADINA - ENGINEER
Although he is the youngest crew member, Ivan already has a few years of experience as an engineer on board boats. After he finished his high school education as a Ship Engineering Technician, he boarded a merchant navy ship as a cadet engineer for one year. After his apprenticeship, he worked for a few years on different bulk carrier ships. After he had gained some experience as an engineer, he decided to try it out as a sole engineer on yachts. In his spare time, he loves playing basketball, watching documentaries and riding motorcycles.

TONI STOJANAC - DECKHAND
Toni has lived in the Split area his whole life. Since 2014, he started solo-skippering on sailing yachts. After getting his maritime master's degree in 2015, he served as a deck-cadet on cargo ships for two years. This deckhand job position is the first step towards achieving his dream of becoming a yacht captain. When he is not working, he is sailing racing, cooking, enjoying different outdoor activities and scuba diving.

Reviews

July 2023
A fantastic charter. All crew were excellent - attentive but not intrusive, diligent but not overbearing. Very professional and impressive cohesion as a team. All worked hard to make our experience as good as it could be, without fuss or grumble. Sailing boat crew mentality, all pitched in to help each other (eg chef sometimes drove the tender). Boat manoeuvres were effortless, toys etc deployed efficiently so never waiting. Food was v good even though we had conflicting dietary requirements (one pescetarian, one no-shellfish). To the chef's credit, he rustled up a delicious pasta and salad dinner with 45 minutes notice after we decided against eating ashore one night. Itinerary was superb, great mix of lovely anchorages and beautiful ports. The activities were all very well organised (scuba, quad bike military tour, e-bike etc) good equipment and people. The crew cared greatly for the boat and it and was very comfortable, practical and functional. Loads of toys, well enjoyed.
Sailing is not to be expected, needs quite specific conditions and more time than would be required with motor. A couple of us are motion sickness sensitive so we weren’t keen to prolong time at sea.
Only complaint is that one week was not enough time, so… we’d like to come back again for two weeks next time!

This was truly the trip of a lifetime for our family aboard the beautiful San LiMi. Sasha, was extremely helpful in providing information for us as we planned our trip and she served as our liaison to coordinate all of the details with the crew. Thank you for all of your patience in dealing with our many questions, emails, and calls!

The San LiMi crew was truly a class act. They were extremely knowledgeable, personable, charming, fun, and helped make our experience incredible. Captain Marko was very skilled and diligent, and we really appreciated his time to connect with us, communicate and answer questions, educate us on the area & the boat, and truly personalize our trip.

Kristina, our lovely stewardess, was the epitome of professional service. She was so attentive and exceptional at her many daily tasks and responsibilities, and she did all of these things with a tremendous smile. Spiro & Tino, our first mate and engineer, were an awesome duo. They kept us safe on our explorations and they were a delight to be around! Lastly, but certainly not least, Chef Josip's masterful creations were noted for their presentation and their taste.

Together, we discovered many beautiful Croatian islands, had amazing food (and a lot of drinks!) and most importantly, had a great deal of fun as a family! We enjoyed a few dinners off the boat exploring local places, but one of the most special parts of the trip was dining on the boat as a family with the lovely views, Kristina's lovely service and attention to details with her decor, and enjoying Chef Josip's delicious meals. We enjoyed our days on shore in Split & Dubrovnik, but our week long journey aboard the San Limi with this crew was the most memorable part! The San LiMi itself was stunning, and there were plenty of activities available and places to relax aboard the 35m stunning boat!! We are so thankful for this experience!
June 2021, Charter with S/Y SAN LIMI
Good afternoon. Eva, Jon, Brig, and I wanted to drop you a note and tell you both what a wonderful time we’re having on San Limi.

What a beautiful yatch and exceptional crew. We have done some wonderful sailing, cruising, eating and enjoy the water toys.

Please pass our thanks on to the owners and our compliments as well. Finally we greatly appreciated being able to get on the yatch on Friday as well. It was wonderful to not have to move from a hotel to Sam Lini Saturday morning. We are very much looking to the rest of our cruise.

Al the best.

September 2020 Charter
I want to express my sincere appreciation for your great work for this booking on SAN LiMi for our dearest clients.

Starting from the initial offer which was accurate, clear and all the useful information was presented in the best way from the very beginning, then during the booking process and finally during the charter when both you and the Captain were at our disposal to keep us informed of how the charter was going.
Your personal commitment was priceless as the Captain was aware of every detail concerning the preferences of this group and along with the crew went on and beyond! Our clients got the most of the beautiful Croatian landscapes, enjoyed the hospitality and returned back home with unforgettable memories mentioning this was an amazing trip as they were excited not only by the beauties of Adriatic Sea but also by the service that was provided.

Thank you again for the excellent cooperation and taking such a good care of these guests! I will definitely have SAN LiMi in my mind for future inquiries and wish to cooperate with you again soon!

My best,
Katya

Gentlemen,

I would like to express my profound gratitude to you both. Thank you for organizing a great vacation for me. I have sailed quite a few times, but this was the best crew I was ever with. Always friendly, competent and smiling. You can immediately tell that the crew is run in a friendly yet disciplined way.

And the Captain, of course. Larger than life, with tons of expertise and stories, loved all over Croatia and with tons of charisma.

The cook is absolutely great, a head above what you normally find on charter boats. My only wish is - Ivan, your food tastes great, but please design a less caloric menue, I gained 3 kilo in a week - and thats swimming 2 miles a day and cycling in the mountains.

Thank you again,

Mike

Dear San LiMi Team

Thank you so much for this unforgettable vacation!

This was our first trip on a yacht. So we didn`t know what to expect.

We were all thrilled! From the first moment on we had a wonderful week.

The crew, very friendly, cautious and mindful. No wish kept open. The food, thank you Ivan!, extraordinary delicious! And last but not least the captain. We enjoyed the little trips with him. Always smiling, his eyes sparkling and happy to show his loved country Croatia. It seems he knows every hill, every stone, every citizen. He makes you feel safe and comfortable.

The yacht is just beautiful and lovingly decorated. With enough space and several spots to sit and chill. Our kids and us enjoyed the great sports equipment every day.

But wonderful equipment is one, people make the difference!

Thank you

We chartered the San LiMI for a week's sail on the Dalmatian Coast in June, 2019. This was a three-generational trip, including two teenaged children. It was an excellent experience in all regards. We definitely would recommend it to anyone looking for an engaged week in Croatia.

The boat itself is more of a motor sailor than a sailboat. It has for cabins - one very large master suite, another king bedroom, a queen, and a double- bedded room. The profile of pictures of the boat as of the spring 2019 did not to it justice. It is very nicely appointed and decorated - modem and very comfortable. The boat had a full complement of water toys which we happily put to good use.

The Croatian crew was outstanding. All of them came from Split. Captain Leo Lemesic served in the Croatian Coast Guard and knows the waters like the back of his hand. He was always able to find a mooring for both daily water play and evening where we had space to ourselves without the intrusion of other boats close by. We explored the towns of the coast with him as guide and dined with some of his friends on the boat after a wine tasting.

The rest of the crew was engaged, courteous, and fun. Ivan, the chef, prepared a series of meals, all based on local ingredients that were spectacular. Jelena, who cared for us on the boat, was a joy of positive energy and care and Carlos and Andy were always available to help in whatever we were doing.
