Day 1: Palma From the airport it’s only an eight km drive to the heart of Mallorca. Palma is the biggest town with one of the largest marinas in Europe. Enjoy the Paseo Maritimo and the cathedral, discover the back streets with life music and great restaurants and bars.
Day 2: Port d’Andrax Palma to Andrax boasts a beautiful sail along the coast line. Look out for the homes of celebrities on the top of the steep hillside, overlooking the ocean. Cala Portals Vells is an ideal lunch stop and perfect for a swim. Once you have entered the anchorage, there is a fine restaurant on the port side, Es Répos, where you find excellent sea food, meats and tapas on the menu. Porto Andrax is a sheltered bay with one of Mallorca’s most beautiful marinas. Enjoy the many restaurants and bars.
Day 3: Port de Soller Soller, the horse shoe bay, is well protected and a good anchorage for the night. Surrounded by the Tramuntana Mountains it’s a must for hikers. A walk through Soller’s town market brings you directly to the hiking trails. Don’t forget your camera to capture the breathtaking views.
Day 4: Port of Pollenca Only 10 NM away from Cabrera is Colonia Sant Jordi. The hotels in the bay offer a wide variety of water sports from tubing, kayaking to jet-ski rentals. Sant Jordi being a fishing village, fresh fish is on the menu daily at the beach-front restaurants.Day 5: Porto Cristo On the way to Porto Cristo break up the long sail with lunch at Cala Ratjada with a stunning small beach and the fishing village in the background. This anchorage, however, is only advised in fair weather. Porto Cristo’s sheltered inlet with its blue waters and white beaches has made it a popular stop for holidaymakers. Do not miss the guided tour of the Limestone Dragon Caves.
Day 6: Cala Figueras Cala Figueras is a small fishing bay where the locals haul their nets and do repairs. If you are up early enough in the morning, catch the fishermen selling their fish right out of the boats. It doesn’t get any fresher! Take some time to explore the underwater world snorkelling along the bay’s shoreline and explore small holes where octopuses hide.
Day 7: Palma Be sure to get an early start to enjoy the last days on the water, sailing past S’Arenal and into the Bay of Palma. Palma has so much to offer you could spend weeks and not see it all. Small alleyways, bars and tapa restaurants will delight you on your last night, while you review your Mallorca sailing vacation.
